Shon Holman-Wheatley Ed.S. is the Director of Transitional Programs at the Tennessee Higher Education Initiative. He leads and supports a team of case managers and peer mentors across the state of Tennessee who provide supportive individualized transitional services to HEP students so they can achieve social, economic, and spiritual well–being post-incarceration.
Shon is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Human Development and Learning, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, and an Education Specialist degree Ed.S in Counselor Leadership. HIs research area for the entire span of his academic career has been Non-traditional Student Success with a focus on African American Males. He was an academic counselor for Medical Professions Students for three years at ETSU before coming to THEI.
Because he is justice-impacted, he knows the importance of how a well-thought-out and planned reentry can make difference in one’s journey back into society.
