Our aim is to enrich student experiences through comprehensive educational resources and targeted support for prison education programs.
Through our CAPSS (Center for Academic Programs and Student Success) Program Area
FICGN partners with colleges and prisons whose efforts to better support their learners benefit from the unique expertise and lived experience of FICGN subject matter experts. This orientation enhances participants’ skills in student-centered teaching and advising, emphasizing humanity, cultural competency, and agency within the unique context of prison environments.
A partnership initiative aimed at guiding student loan borrowers through effective repayment strategies, ensuring financial stability and educational continuity.
A pilot program to provide essential support to incarcerated students with defaulted student loans, helping them regain good standing and access future opportunities. As we pilot a streamlined and enhanced version of ISBD, we’re working directly with Higher Education in Prison (HEP) programs to connect their students with this critical support. By collaborating closely with HEP programs, we aim to establish a strong foundation and best practices for expanding ISBD’s impact in the future.
Developed in collaboration between FICGN and Lee College, and with input from students enrolled in Prison Education Programs, this guide helps tailor course and instructor evaluations to the unique needs of incarcerated students and the educators who serve them.
