FICGN’s Operations Coordinator is also a playwright member of the Write It Out! 2024 cohort presenting their own original short play in NYC. They are Chair of the board for Abolition Ink, a fiscal sponsor collective, focused on queer incarceration. Brian frequently collaborates with ABO Comix, talking on panels and advancing the conversation regarding the incarcerated queer community. After a year of coordination, they now bring a recovery program into Rikers Island prison. While incarcerated, Brian worked as a facilitator for the Thresholds Decision Making program, collaborating with fellow incarcerated individuals to create various new programs. While taking screenwriting classes at NYU, they are now deep in the process of writing a sitcom surrounding their reentry and recovery journey.
